WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS
Kay Pink Hoop - Back to the Hoop
In this workshop you will learn on and off body moves that go behind your back or around your body. We will go through: foot pass variations, behind the back throw and jump, snake pass, round the body circus move and round the butt pass, butt hooping and behind the back foot pass.Go ready to learn cool, fun and fancy tricks!
From Bristol UK, Kay has been a professional hoop instructor since 2011. She taught for Emma Kenna's company Hooping Mad for several years, then taught solo tours around the UK, Europe, USA, Australia and Asia as well as hooping festivals world wide including Spin summit (USA), New Zealand Hoop Fest, German Hoop Convention, SWHOOP, Manchester Hoop Convention, Birmingham Hoop Fest and the European Juggling Convention. Kay now runs her own hooping festival Unicorn Hoop Fest and clothing line Unicorn Hooper which launched in 2017! Growing up struggling with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia, Kay found different ways around her coordination and learning issues which hugely influenced her teaching style, breaking down tricks in the simplest ways so anyone can understand and grasp them. A finalist in the first ever Hooping Idol, Kay is known for her foot hooping, twins, flow and her award winning Hoop burlesque performances.
See Ying Yip - Brain Scrambling Wall Plane Tech
Learn mind-bending hoop tech that will frazzle your brain. We will begin by going through the theory behind wall plane twins and hybrids. Starting with the combination of a linear isolation and one-handed coin flip fold, we will build onto this move to create lots of different patterns and combinations. We will add twists, folds, turns, flips, iso-whips, linear isolations, swings, slides, use different hand grips, to explore all the different possibilities and add variety to your twins. We will learn how to move dynamically whilst doing wall plane twins, and how to connect the moves together and incorporate them into your existing twins flow. You do not need to have previous experience of twins to do this workshop, but it would help if you have some experience of moving two hoops at the same time. Everything will be explained from the basics up, but it would be helpful if you already know how to do a basic isolation and horizontal linear isolation. If you are already an experienced doubles hooper, this workshop will add to your skill set, and inspire you to build your own combinations. By the time you have finished the workshop your brain will be slightly scrambled! Please bring 2 x medium to small lightweight hoops.

You will be utterly surprised :) Building on hoop dance moves and tricks, we will explore how we can create flow and use hula hooping technique to generate a brand new range of moves which will help you to expand the concept of dance and to explore the infinite possibilities available with this prop. All materials will be provided.
